Hello Judy,

Looks like you will be getting a few more bumps and bruises
from the original Owners, but what's with this David Horn
character, he cant be serious, he asks why he should pay
more for a 3 bedroom, Gee lets see, 3 bedrooms mean 3 beds
to furnish linens for, more room to air condition, more hot
water for that hot tub on the balcony, lets not forget the
2 bathrooms and possibly the included washer and dryer,
give me a break, I have a 1 bedroom and a two bedroom
unit, I'm paying a lot more than him and it only totals 3
bedrooms hmmm.
Meanwhile we see that the Marina residences aren't getting
hammered with extra costs as we are, I'd like to know how
much their amf's are for a 2 bedroom , I don't know the
answer but I could almost guarantee you they pay less than
us, furthermore who's paying the interest on the new
building construction loan, again I could bet its guess
who? The old pelican owners that cant use the amenities
over there. I'm sure Royal will say no, but how can the
Residence support themselves if the JET SETTERS didn't buy
the units. The empty rooms aren't paying maintenance fees,
so who is?

In the grand scheme of things, what's another couple of
bucks, the world is in complete chaos, gas price doubled,
gas and electric up 30 % ,we are facing a depression, taxes
up 20 % in Jersey, 10 % un- employment, People are
thinking of voting for a president, while we are at war and
surely facing other conflicts in the very near future,
meanwhile. this clown wasn't even in the girl scouts ,
never mind the service,so as you can see folks a few more
rubles aren't going to kill you so pay up and enjoy while

Judy's Response: The cost for a PMR 2 bedroom unit was
$741 in 2007 and is now $815 with the same 10% increase
that PRC is paying. PMR is a newly constructed building
and does not require repairs.

The interest on the new building construction loan is paid
by the project (which means 50% each from Pelican and
Royal).

All Pelican owners from the original resort may use the
gym, pool and bars. The empty units are rented which
creats funds to offset the amf.

In response to my previous sending, I have read and re-read
the explanation to my query concerning the assessment fees
and every one of the reasons listed pertaining to the size
of the unit reflects directly to "maintenance fees" not a
special assessment fee.

Once again, put simply, what am I afforded, as a larger
unit owner, that others are not, that requires me to pay
more to keep the resort financially sound?

I am not disputing the increase in the annual maintenance
fee. Anyone with a brain can realize that these costs will
continue to rise.

physical injury to any of the employees or their
families. However, Hurricane Omar had affected the
stability of their income over the past several weeks,
so we have created a fund to help compensate for those
losses.

night to owners, which is much too high in my
estimation. The offer of extra nights at the
residence for $50 per night, apparently does not
apply here. If anyone has these spare nights, please

BOOK EXCHANGE AT PELICAN B POOL
If anyone has any books, noodles or craft materials that they have
enjoyed using while at the resort but would rather not take back
with them, they can always leave them with me. I have a fairly large
book exchange but new materials always appreciated. Also, If anyone
has BOOKS ON TAPE or CD and would like to bring them down for me, I
would appreciate it. I would like to start a listening
book exchange in addition to the traditional book exchange.

PHONES IN ST MAARTEN

You can purchase a phone by going down to the Airport road to the
theater building (first door to the left of the central entrance).
The phone is about $85 and the chip is around $20-$25 for the air
time. These are fall 2004 prices. You can just buy more air time
as you need it.

Cell phones
The info is Sharon Harris, she operates out of Royal Palm
and has a loyal following. Her e-mail address is

PHONE CARDS can be purchased from Kathy for cell phone use while in
St Maarten. See Kathy at the B Pool at 11 am or at her activities
hut at the end of B pool.

NOTE: - The sim cards from UTS service provider at the Dolphine casino
are $27 and that also gives some minutes on the phone. The phone must be
unlocked which if they have been with their service provider for long
enough they should provide the unlocking codes. Or buy an inexpensive
(under $100) unlocked triband phone in St Maarten. All phones here are
